SPEED UP UR "RAM".. PLAY BETTER GAMES...

To speed up your windows or to increase RAM virtually.

Right click on My Computer --> Properties --> Advanced --> Performance -> Settings-> Advanced -->V irtual Memory.

ChangeKeep the initial size same as recommended and maximum size double of it then restart your system.It will improve speed of windows and you can play some games which require higher RAM.

When a window is active, press the F11 key of the keyboard to get the biggest window possible and press F11 again to restore it.

HIDE UR FOLDERS IN JUST FEW STEPS WITHOUT USING SOFTWARES

Hide ur folders without the usage of folder lock :

suppose u want to hide a folder named XYZ which is in E: drive of ur computer or laptop
go to command promptstart -->RUN --> cmd --> E:
after changing it from C: to E:

type E:/>attrib +h +s XYZ
"The above command is to hide the folder"

To show the folder
type E:/>attrib -h -s abc
in this type of hidding the folder cannot be viewed even if we make advance search or even changing the folders menu to (show all hidden files).

FOLDER OPTIONS ARE MISSING

When the Virus is attacked the PC or Laptop first the Folder options will be missing in the Windows explorer. Here is a solution for it
Go to Start Menu
Open Run
And then type "gpedit.msc".
Now gotoUser Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen"Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu".
Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured. That's all now u will find Folder Options

Use the On-Screen Keyboard

An on screen keyboard is built into Windows XP. It can be useful if you have mobility impairments, if you are using a tablet PC, or if your keyboard goes down. To access the keyboard, go to Start, then click Run, and type osk. Now the keyboard opens on your computer screen, featuring three typing modes you can use to type data:
Clicking mode, you click the on screen keys Scanning mode, you press a hot key or use a switch input device to type highlighted characters Hovering mode, you use a mouse or joystick to point to a key, which is then typed To make a shortcut icon on your desktop to the on screen keyboard:

1. Right click the desktop.
2. Point to New, and then click Shortcut.
3. Type osk, click Next.
4. Type a name for the shortcut, and then click Finish.
5. That’s it! When you need it, the shortcut to the on screen keyboard utility is right on your desktop.

How To: Disable Error Reporting

You can get rid of the Windows XP error report messages if you don’t want to send another one in. Start the System Configuration Utility:
1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type msconfig to open the System Configuration Utility.
3. Click the Services tab. Clear the Error Reporting Service check box, and then click OK.
4. Hit Restart to reboot your system.
5. Your computer will now start without loading the error reporting service.

Microsoft: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Locks Windows XP SP3

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 looks very promising, but it is very obvious why it is and will be for some time in beta phase. Apart from several annoying bugs reported by those who downloaded the early next-generation browser from the Redmond company, there are some problems with Windows XP's Service Pack 3 as well.
Microsoft Corp. warned users of Windows XP Service Pack 3 that they won't be able to uninstall either SP3 or Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 under some circumstances. The actual problem appears only in users who downloaded and installed IE8 Beta 1 prior to updating Windows XP to SP3, Microsoft said, which triggers a special installation message which reads:
If you chose to continue, Windows XP SP3 and IE8 Beta 2 will become permanent.
Internet Explorer 8 will feature a full-fledged privacy mode which will prevent the browser from saving any browsing or search history, will delete your IE8 browser cache at the end of every session and will also disable saving of cookies, data, passwords and other offline data. The tools share the "InPrivate" name, which Microsoft registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office several weeks ago.
Internet Explorer 8.0 includes three rendering modes: one that is using the current web standards, a second one that reflects Microsoft’s implementation of Web standards at the time of the release of Internet Explorer 7 in 2006 and a third one based on rendering methods dating back to the early Web. By default, the first mode of rendering will be enabled in Internet Explorer.
