Protecting Mobile From Viruses

1. Switch to Bluetooth hidden mode. If your phone has Bluetooth capability, ensure that the Bluetooth capability is switched to hidden or invisible mode unless you specifically need it to be visible. This will help prevent other Bluetooth-enabled devices from finding your phone (unless you grant them the necessary permission) and will therefore help protect your phone from worms that spread using the Bluetooth wireless technology.

2. Exercise caution before opening attachments. When accepting applications sent via Bluetooth, or opening MMS attachments, exercise caution, just as you would when opening an email attachment on your PC, because they may include harmful software. Ensure the application or attachment comes from a known source, and is wary of opening files that have unfamiliar text attached to them, even if they come from someone you know.

3. Only download content from a trusted source. Trusted sources may include operator portals and other well-known brands that offer adequate protection against viruses and other harmful software. Be aware though that, as with emails, malicious or fraudulent users may be able to fake the appearance of a trusted source.

4. Consider anti-virus software. Some software is available to prevent phone viruses. You may wish to consider downloading this software.

5. Contact your phone manufacturer if concerned. If you think you have a virus, call the phone manufacturer’s care line. They can assist you confirm if it is a virus, and help fix the problem.

CONVERT A 512 MB duo/produo/MMC CARD TO 640 MB

Guys, i think this post will be very useful to your computer.

CONVERT A 512 MB duo/produo/MMC CARD TO 640 MBI guess it works for duo/produo/mmc cards.

PrinCiple:--Your files in duo/produo/MMC is stored in multiple (disk) blocks. So if you format using 16K block, the space used will be 16K eventhough your file is just 1K.
If you buy DUO/PRO-DUO, it is usually preformatted with 16K block. Therefore a lot of space is wasted as most installed program files are usually less than 2K.

ProCeDure:-- You will need a card reader to do this
edit:u can also do it by connecting u r phone via USB be better to do it in Card reader only
1. Connect card reader and copy all your files in the memory card to computer disk.(Make sure you set the show all/hidden/os files to "on")
2. Do a format of the memory card using command line "format" and use the /A=size option.Alternative, you can use the Disk Management in Adminstrative Tools to format.Make sure you select FAT16. For 256MB memory card, smallest block you can use is 4K, 128MB is 2K, 64Mb is 1K and 32MB is 512B.(Note: You cannot use the phone "format ext.mem" to do this as the format just clear the allocation table and does not change the block size)
3. Copy back all files to memory card.

For those who have problem with command line format:
Just use the Disk Managament to format
1. Goto Start->control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer management->Disk management
2. Select your memory card/usb drive. Right-click and select "Format"
